Handling the quick and ever changing developments in technology
Time and money are two things that most people find in very short supply.  So it is not surprising that the challenge of keeping up with the new and quick changing technological developments that continue to have a profound impact on our lives, in even the most simple tasks, can be daunting, cost prohibitive and intimating.  However, the consequences of not being up with these changes whether financial, social, professional, work or family related, personal or for pleasure can be serious.

So how do we get ourselves up to speed without spending a lot of money and time?

One clear and direct way to decipher the "noise", an abundance of choices and to acquire the working knowledge that you need to make informed choices on purchases and potential usages is to attend a trade show where you have products, demonstrations, experts and information at your beckoning.  Furthermore, trade show can quickly and inexpensively alert you to what we want to know, what we know, what we think we know and what we absolutely should know.

The advantages of attending a trade show or expo
  • Meet key people at all levels in the industry you are seeking knowledge in
  • Exposed to people who have real working knowledge of the products and technology you seek
  • The opportunity to compare products
  • Seminars and works shops that highlight abilities of products, many which are free
  • Shows spread over a few days so you have a chance to follow up with presenters
  • Meet many people who have or had your concerns and interests
So at a trade show you can come in the morning knowing nothing, by afternoon you will know something and by the time you leave you can know a lot.  All which put you on the path to acquiring knowledge -- and the ability to ask the proper questions to gain more knowledge.  And most expos will completely cancel registration fees if you pre-register online.

It was great seeing so many people with a wide variety of interests and backgrounds at the Photo Expo held in New York at the Jacob Jarvis Center.

Tomorrow - a closer look at the photo expo and handling the choices new photo technology offers..
